Dr. Sanchez is a postdoctoral fellow specializing in evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance-use and trauma, as well as couples. She received her degree from Long Island University Post. Kayla’s training is varied and includes outpatient community mental health clinics such as the Psychological Services Center and Pride Healing Center at LIU Post and inpatient psychiatric units at Bellevue Hospital. She also provided EFT-informed couple therapy at Montefiore’s Supporting Healthy Relationships Program. Kayla is a bilingual therapist and has provided individual, group, and couple’s therapy in Spanish as well as English. She draws from psychodynamic, CBT, and EFT therapeutic frameworks to provide an individualized, warm, collaborative environment. She also has received specialized training in prolonged exposure and motivational interviewing.
