Zoe Leary, DSW, LMSW, is a doctoral social worker who received her master’s and doctorate degrees from Simmons College of Social Work. As one of the oldest social work programs in the U.S., Simmons College of Social Work prioritizes understanding systems of oppression and how they impact marginalized groups. Dr. Leary’s therapeutic style is centered around utilizing self-compassion to navigate shame, stigma, and negative self-talk. Dr. Leary’s clinical experience includes working with adolescents and adults throughout all levels of addiction treatment. Dr. Leary has specialized training in CBT-I, Unified Protocol, STAIR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Self-Compassion (MSC) while using her work’s core concepts of motivational interviewing (MI), Invitation to Change® (ITC) (ITC), and a strengths-based approach. Along with working with adults to achieve their treatment goals, Dr. Leary is also a part of the adolescent team and runs both skills and process groups at CMC:NYC.
